The açaí berry, commonly known as açaí, is a small, round drupe that is black-purple color, that looks similar to a grape, but much smaller.

The açaí berry grows on a branch of the açaí palm tree, and the branches can grow anywhere from 500 to 900 berries per branch.

The exocarp, more commonly known as the epicarp,  is a husk - the outermost layer of the fruit.

The aroma of the real açaí berry is actually quite bland, however (and depending on what supplier the vendor uses), the fragrance oil will vary but only slightly.

I have noticed that the majority of fragrance oil companies will base the aroma on how the berries taste, therefore, this section will go that route.

Since it’s native to the Amazon Rainforest, the scent notes are tropical, with a unique twist of raspberry, blackberry, and dark chocolate.
