Vanessa Theodore | Prismatic Skies Update for August 5, 2024

Been super busy lately but I do have some updates for everyone!!!  I have been creating tirelessly for the releases coming out for Halloween 2024.  I will have some new blends coming out for the September 1, 2024 release of the Etsy shop, but a lot of my creations have been geared towards the Halloween release.

I do have some new oils for the Christmas and Chanukah holidays.  I am also bringing back some of my, "winter," Best Sellers.

So what's been going on?
  • HALLOWEEN GIFTSET BOX #1:
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a new blend that I created that will be coming out Halloween 2024.  It will first be released as a LIMITED EDITION SPECIAL GIFTSET BOX.  The wax melt itself is considered to be a mini wax melt loaf because of its size.  It is in the shape of Texas.  Measurements will be available on the Etsy listing.

  • What’s in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Giftset Box:
    • The Texas Chainsaw Masscre Limited Edition Wax Melt Loaf
    • Ceramic Tealight Warmer 
    • Book of Matches 
    • Texas Chainsaw Massacre related gifts (will show on listing - they’ll be different but it will not be offered as a choice - the gifts are given at random as the boxes will be sealed)

And ONE BOX of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will have ONE, “EASTER EGG SURPRISE,” which is the chase item as it is an official collectors item that I was able to get.  It is a surprise - nobody will know what it is until they get it.  

When the lucky person gets the Easter egg surprise, please post it to your socials and tag my socials.  Socials will be listed on the bottom of this article.

  • Is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre going to be an RTS item or is this just a one-time blend and offer:
After these giftset boxes have sold out, that style will NOT be offered again.  This is just for the Halloween 2024 release. 

However, the Texas state shape will be offered as a mini custom loaf, along with the plain 1lb loaf, the 8oz scoop container, and the blend will be an RTS item - which will likely be a snap bar.  I’ll probably offer it as a 5-Cavity snap bar and a 7-Cavity snap bar.  I’m also considering doing it as an anatomical heart shape, a large skull shape, and brain shapes.  

Will decide after the new year.
  • What else is going to be offered for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre blend:
Well, I made a wax melt art loaf!!!  There is only ONE available.  Photos will be listed soon!!  When I have oils leftover, I like to make a special one-off wax melt art loaf.  Art loaves are more detailed and decorated per theme.  I made this bloody and cute at the same time, haha, well...as much as you can given the subject matter, hahaha!  It will be available in my Etsy shop for Halloween 2024.
In case you guys haven’t figured it out yet, I really love Halloween 🤣

So, I’ve been having a lot of fun with the props that I bought for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Overlook Hotel, and We All Float Down Here…

I was painting the miniature chainsaws to make it look like they have blood all over them.  🤣 Oh man, I was having a blast with these!!

Leatherface enamel pins is also part of one of the gift boxes.  


Aaaaaaaaaaand one lucky person gets the CHASE GIFT!!!  I bought different gifts for the boxes because I wanted a variety.  Then my husband, Kristian, came up with a great idea of getting one expensive item that will be a surprise that everybody wants.  

So, when I’m picking orders, I’m not going to know what items are in what, I’m just grabbing the boxes.

So, I want everyone to post what they got from their giftset boxes.

Turquoise & Orange Resin Ghost Lamps

  The Turquoise & Orange Resin Ghost Lamps Hey Everyone!!! Vanessa here!  Just wanted to tell you a little bit about the resin ghost lamps that I am making.  Started these today.  Never made them before.  They're super cute so far, and I am hoping, and thinking they will be, these come out great. The Resin Ghost Lamps I didn't want to do traditional colors completely, but I also really wanted to do orange, because ghosts are typically done in white, clear, and silver.  I am planning on doing a bunch of different colors for more resin ghost lamps. I used Let's Resin turquoise color, and it's more on the green side of turquoise, rather than the balanced green & blue that turquoise typically is. I really like it as of now, but I am curious how it will cure. I'm coming up with some ideas for other ghost lamps that I want to do.  I want to play around with it.   The Girl's Not Grey Anatomical Heart Shaped Wax Melts Creative Process Video I have made a quick video to show you folks part of the creative process that I go through in creating wax melts.  It's not the best video...it's quite frankly my very first video that I have made and edited.  I have a lot to learn but I think I did rather well for it being my first time.   MAGPIE TREASURES CANDLE:  Lemon Scented Candle In Vintage Hobnail Milk Glass Candy Bowl w/Lid I have been making Magpie Treasures Candles since December 2020.  Magpie Treasures Candles are handmade candles that I have created in (typically) vintage, rare, hard-to-find (not always - and they're usually more expensive) glassware. The glassware are typically mugs, cups, bowls, compotes, candy bowls, and the like.  The candles are made from a soy and paraffin wax blend and the fragrances are of my own creation/custom blend fragrances. I do not remember where I got this beautiful piece from, I think I bought it at a Savers here in New Hampshire . I wasn't always the greatest at making candles , but through A LOT of trial and error over the years, I have definitely gotten waaaaaaay better and the pieces have become much more beautiful, along with the fun treasures inside the candle . The first official wax melt for Prismatic Skies is called, " Girl's Not Grey ."  It is a dedication melt to the band, A.F.I. (A Fire Inside).  Check out the music video and song above!!! Some of you may be aware that I have made TONS of dedication / inspired by wax melts when Magpie Designs was in business, before having to shut it down due to health reasons.   The Blogger / Blogspot QR Code Video w/Audio Not only do I get creative with my wax melts, resin products, resin decor, resin art, and fluid art, I also get creative with the ways that I promote my business and my art .  I like to create promotional animation videos , and I have been getting extra creative adding audio to my videos. I taught myself animation, video editing, and audio enhancements in the beginning of the year (2023) while I was home on short term disability recovering from surgery and health complications that followed.  I needed some sort of creative outlet to be able to cope with not having Magpie Designs anymore, and not really being able to move.  So I started to dabble with animation. I still have a lot to learn but I am quite proud of myself in what I have learned and what I have learned being able to apply it to my artwork and to now, to my small business, Prismatic Skies .
