AQUA TOFANA: The First Little Death

Aqua Tofana has been my first precious baby death since 2020. She was the very first blend that I created for The Little Deaths Collection. A collection that I honestly didn't think was going to pick up as well and as fast as it did! And it is still going strong 5 years later (well, just about 5 years...give or take, hahaha).

When the blend for Aqua Tofana first came out, it was during the Magpie days of my blends business, and it actually had a good amount of, "first designs."

Let's check out the early designs of Aqua Tofana, shall we?

The very first design of the Aqua Tofana fragrance, the 6-cavity clamshell. First came into existence in spring of 2020. Jet black wax, which ended up being my signature black because it is the very first dye that I created. All black glitter and all black skull & crossbones shaped confetti that adorned the top. Sometimes the confetti sank to the bottom giving the buyer a fun surprise! I like those happy accidents!

Aqua Tofana design number 2 that came out in 2021, but I think it was actually 2022 - I can never remember with this design, sorry.

This design came in two colors; a clear iridescent plastic coffin box with a skeleton embedded at the top and the same design in a dark purple iridescent case.

The wax melts were a variety of designed skulls.

I thought they were pretty awesome and I had to make, I think, 4 batches almost immediately back-to-back because I couldn't keep this design in stock long enough. And the cases came with 12 skull wax melts. And they were a pretty decent size too!

Aqua Tofana, design number 3 that came out in 2022; 2oz ridged cup designs that were in my signature black dyed wax with fine grated black glitter and 1 cup was adorned with 1 obsidian skull precious stone/mineral.
The packaging came with two cups but only 1 obsidian skull stone. Out of the earlier designs for Aqua Tofana, this is actually my favorite one. Just simple.

Aqua Tofana, design #4 is the 1lb custom coffin wax melt art loaf that came out in 2022. I remember one time, some snooty lady in a Facebook group I was in, felt the need to make a snotty remark about the price and I remember replying yes well that's the price; I understand math is hard for some people.

Anyhoo. Despite her b.s. comment because she cannot comprehend that supplies cost money and a pound of wax is a-fucking-lot, this custom loaf sold very well and only stopped when I stopped offering it.

This design was the collection's art loaf design for the whole collections custom art loaves.

Towards the end of 2022, I was also offering Aqua Tofana in a smaller art loaf in the style of a perfume bottle.

It was very beautiful but I stopped offering it as it was honestly a challenge getting out of the mold unbroken. It’s a shame really.

However, some of my wax melt collections, I’m planning on turning into resin art pieces, so maybe I’ll do it that way or something similar.

Fast forward to 2024, and Aqua Tofana has another new design. I’ve been doing this design for the entirety of The Little Deaths Collection and I have no plans on changing it anytime soon.

I’m so happy with this collection. It’s growing and it’s doing amazing!
